jsyk, these prices are not too high for commissions. Tumblr has a way of pushing prices down, it's actually refreshing to see someone with commissions priced at what would be considered normal elsewhere. good luck with them!! :)

I updated my commission prices! I know it’s a bit high for what most people can pay on tumblr, but I am still trying to learn what is an acceptable price for my art and don’t want to make it ridiculously low.

ANYWAY ♥ Each drawing will be in full color.

What I draw:

People, animals, anthros, natural landscapes, most objects, some buildings (specifically) houses, NSFW

What I don’t draw:

Machinery and robots u _u

I love drawing backgrounds. So if you order a commission with a background I’ll give you a free sketch of anything you’d like! The price of this commission starts at $100 but may change due to character and background complexity. Just ask me and we’ll come up with something!

If you want something simpler please refer to my old commission info! And again, if you need to, we can discuss prices. I’m very flexible and fast. :D

A short one about a ghost.

Through the darkness of the forest, Stang saw his mother. She stood the base of the tree, pale and still, illuminated by an unreal light. It was her time to visit him, as she often did during the lonely autumn. She beckoned him to come forward, and he did, his heart beating fast, obedient to her like he had always been. He left the cave entrance from where he been standing, gazing at the night sky, and followed her as she drifted through the trees. She traveled fast, her movements decisive. To each tree she passed, she touched the surface and left a glowing mark of her hand, which acted as Stang’s guide when he thought he had lost her trail. Rocks and twigs pierced his feet as he ran, attempting to close the gap between his mother and himself. In his excitement he had forgotten to wear his shoes.

Eventually mother and child ended their chase and met at a clearing. The moon awakened and radiated its light, making the unseen visible. Near the opposite edge of the clearing stood an abandoned shelter, a tiny house made from wood. The mother stood before Stang, her smile warm and bright like her spirit. She reached out to him, mouthing his true name. He heard her voice in his mind, soft but frail, calling his name over and over. Stang shook his head, clenching his fists. The name she called was no longer his.

His mother, sensing his firmness, dropped her hands and bowed her head. She glided to the dilapidated shelter and entered it through the doorless entrance, leaving faded afterimages in her trail. Stang felt the urge to claw at his heart, but fought it as he went in after her. The tall foliage brushed against him as he trudged through the frame of the door, but he froze at the sight in front of him. From each crack and crevice, through each hole in the broken furniture, grew a tulip. In its single room, the shelter housed the most tulips Stang had ever seen. The petals of each flower blushed a brilliant red. And in the center of it all, floated his mother, and beside her, his father. He was as pale as his mother, but overflowing with a regained strength, a strength he had lost when he passed away, months before his wife. Their combined light emanated from them as they held each other, gazing at Stang.

Stang did not know if it was the love he felt from his parents or the beauty of the tulips that drove him to tears. He knelt in the soft bed of tulips, his body chilled and tensed as he felt the touch of his parents, their arms surrounding him. He fell through their embrace, his body making contact with the multitude of petals as he collapsed.

Light shone through the ceiling of the shelter, caressing Stang’s face.

He woke, blinking, the blurrred red filling his vision. He sat up, his tall frame shaking, and placed his back against a decaying wall. His hands felt the ground of their own accord and when he felt the spindly stem of a flower, he plucked it and held it, stroking the soft petals of his mother’s favorite flowers.

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. Those users have spent time and effort to make Tumblr what it is today, and they are the ones who spend time on the website daily. A user who is checking onto Tumblr because it’s attached to their homepage is not going to be as strong of a user nor as dedicated. By changing the website to suit this new user, you would lose the strong users while building an undedicated usership.

To any website that would think of buying Tumblr, they must understand that it is a website that cannot be changed to make it more user friendly to a casual blogger. I think that many Tumblr users would be less worried about a buy-out if they were promised that their communities and ways of using Tumblr would not be changed. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. Yahoo! would gain nothing by losing this “cool” group of bloggers in an age group they so desperately want to reach, so they must cater to these individuals by leaving the website exactly as is.” - houseoftombombadil

As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.

We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.
